Math: 

Monday:  Daily Review “Mon. 4” #4 and 5   (Making sure paper is labeled and numbered neatly, set up paper for rest of the week)   Please encourage children to work on neatness.

              Multiplication review – 4s facts

              Lesson 1.3 – Order of operations  Text pgs 16-18

                                 Handout – P.E.M.D.A.S.  – placed in binders in “Math Notes” tab.  Discuss

                                 Activity- partners discuss questions on pg 16, write answers on dry erase mats

                                 Pg 17 – Activities – go over examples  

                                 pg 18 – discuss vocabulary – look at examples and discuss – have students complete #1-6 on a piece of paper  – go over answers if have time                            

              

Tuesday:    *** We are already behind  – so part of Monday’s lessons will be worked on here.

Daily review:  “Tues. 4”  #3, 4, and 5  (add to Monday’s review answer sheet)

                  Remind students of examples of evaluating expressions.  Text pg 18 and then go on to pg 19.

                  Have them look at “on your own”  #7, 8, and 9

                  Please remind your student to ask questions.

                 Text pg 20/21 go over problems as examples.

Wednesday:     Daily review “Wed 4”       #3,4,and 5

                      Multiplication review:  drill of 5 facts – 5 minute timed.

                     Lesson 1.4 – Prime factorization  ***refer to notes handed out last week*** these should be located in binder – math notes tab

                     Text pg 22 – definition of prime and composite

                     Go over activities 1, 2, 3, and 4.

                     Text pg 23 – go over on the board

                     Text pg 24 – factoring pairs  (several ways to do this)

                         

Thursday: Daily review “Thurs 4”  #3, 4, and 5

              Text pg 25  Prime factorization tree

               Text pg 26 examples and (factoring pairs “rainbow”)

              assignment on computer lesson 1.4 – bigideasmath.com

                                   

Friday:  Daily math review “Fri. 4”  #1

            Hand in Daily math page.

            Make sure any assignments not complete are finished and turned in.

            If time  – Math game for the class

            IXL – complete the recommended skills plans.  

            

       

  Reading For Pleasure

Monday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor                  

              Prereading Questions:  “Judge a book by its cover”

                                                    Interested or not?

                                                    Characters?

                                                    Setting?

Tuesday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor

Wednesday: Read aloud to class –      Code of Honor    

                   While reading, have the class illustrate the setting at this time in the story.

                   Time allowed for free reading.

Thursday: Read aloud to class – Code of Honor                            Begin reading:  Where the Red Fern Grows
                   

             

Friday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor 

               Study Hall time:  Bring own books or other work needed to be completed to this hour.
